it appears that 2023 it's not gonna be much different than 2022 because we are still living in an era of "fake news," "misinformation," and "gaslighting" yes I said gaslighting. In late November Merriam-Webster dictionary released the new word of the year and it was "gaslighting."
According to Merriam-Webster dictionary description, gaslighting is “the act or practice of grossly misleading someone, especially for one’s own advantage.” Alright, add that word to the rest of the other new words this woke society has introduced us to or the new Texas residents that brought some words and phrases with them.
LOOK: These Words Should Be Banned In Texas
There are a lot of other words in the American vocabulary that make me salty and send me skyrocketing. I don't like all these new words and phrases it's bad enough we tend to use words in the wrong way like a malapropism.
All this past week I have been asking listeners "what are some words and or phrases that you believe we Texans need to ban once and for all?" Whether they're a Texas word, saying, or slang. These words listed in the gallery are what we as a tribe or colony were able to come up with.
Mind you, these need to go, and if you will, please cease using these words and phrases as they are legally banned from Texas (ok I made that last part up). I'll start with "woke" what is that anyway? According to Merriam-Webster, WOKE means - one that's aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues.
Finally, I was not gaslighting you these facts can be found in the Merriam-Webster, Urban Dictionary, Urban Thesaurus, and the Online Dictionary.
