Alright rodeo fans it's that time again, the high school rodeo finals are coming next week. This is an annual event for Abilene and brings in a lot of great folks to our community. This is the 27th year for Abilene to host the event and brings in over 600 contestants and their families.

This Abilene's 27th year hosting the event but it's the 65th anniversary of the THSRA finals. The organization sponsors over 125 events each year thorough out Texas. It was started in 1946 to keep kids from rural areas in school and complete high school. That continues to hold true today, students who participate in the THSRA must maintain certain academic standards to compete. Those who participate are not just doing so for fun, they are also competing for scholarship money too.

If you would like to check out this years event here are a few details.
