Did you miss Aaron Watson's Christmas Concert last year? Well, get ready, because the Honky Tonk Kid is coming back to Abilene to celebrate the season from the stage. As I recall from last year, Aaron was booked for one show only and it sold out in a couple of days, so an additional show was added.

Aaron Watson, also known as "The Honky Tonk Kid", acquired that nickname early on in his career. One might think Watson, who had been touring and playing a lot of honky-tonks, got labeled with that moniker as a result, but that's not the case.

In fact, Aaron recorded and released a song in 2002 called "The Honky Tonk Kid", which was produced by country music legend Ray Benson in a collaboration with Willie Nelson. The song was a huge success on both the Texas Red Dirt and Billboard Country Music charts.

From that day on he was known as "The Honky Tonk Kid". Whether he's performing live at Moody Coliseum on the ACU campus, at the Expo Center, or at the Paramount Abilene Theatre, I believe Aaron Watson is sure to sell out the venue, again.

This holiday season, catch Watson live under the stars at the Paramount Abilene. The  show is not sponsored by anyone else. Watson is hosting the concert himself, and he's bringing Santa Claus to spend time with the kids.

Along with some Christmas tunes, Watson will be performing all his hit songs, including his latest number one single (as seen in the video below), a remake of the 1981 Rosanne Cash hit song "Seven Year Ache" and a duet with Jenna Paulette.

Watson's latest album “Cover Girl” celebrates the female country artists who have influenced his music career, and features songs by Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Cyndi Lauper, and others.

The Aaron Watson Family Christmas Tour is set for December 21 and 22, 2023, at the historic Paramount Theatre in downtown Abilene. Tickets for this show go on sale October 13 at 10 a.m.
