Do Not Miss the Legacies of Two Country Legends Haggard and Jones
While country music legends Mighty Merle Haggard and the Possum George Jones have passed, their legacies live on to perform their dads' music. Both Marty Haggard and Georgette Jones grew up in and around the music business, and both performed in their fathers' shows from time to time.
Furthermore, Marty and Georgette are spitting images of their super-famous parents. Marty cannot deny who his father is because, he not only looks like his dad, but he talks and sounds just like Mighty Merle Haggard. Besides Marty saw his dad through a "son's eyes" as you'll see in the video below.
As for Georgette, she does not look like or sound like her father. She is more like her award-winning and equally legendary mother, the infamous Tammy Wynette. Yes, Georgette was musically influenced by both Tammy and George. While growing up, she performed with both mom and dad even though they had divorced many years prior.
Marty Haggard and Georgette Jones are coming to perform live at the historic Paramount Theatre, 352 Cypress Street in downtown Abilene. Tickets are going fast and if you never got to see Merle Haggard or George Jones live, here's the next best thing. I'll admit that these two are their father's children as you'll see in the George and Georgette video below.
Marty Haggard is a singer and songwriter who had some success on the billboard country music charts from 1980 until 1987. Marty had five singles that made it to the top of the Hot Country Songs chart. Marty continued playing in his dad's band while on tour. Today, Haggard writes Christian and Gospel music and tours when he's not doing the "Tribute To Our Parents" tour.
Georgette Jones is the daughter of two country music legends George and Tammy. Georgette has been performing on stage since she was three years old. She recorded her first song "Daddy Come Home" when she was ten years old. Georgette has put out a half dozen albums and has been on the Grand Ole Opry.
Don't miss the "Tribute to Our Parents" concert when it comes to Abilene Friday, March 3, 2023, at 7:30 PM. Purchase tickets in advance. Support and/or donate to the Paramount Theatre here.
