‘The American’ $2 Million PBR in Arlington March 2, 2014

Coming March 2nd to the AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboy Stadium) will be the PBR Iron Cowboy V competition but this year has a little extra twist. The Top 10 bull riders from the PBR will get to compete in The American and win a $2 million total purse.

Jim Haworth, chairman and CEO of the PBR, explains:

“On Saturday [March 1] the PBR will highlight its top athletes on the rankest bulls in the world to determine which man has the strength to go head-to-head with the bulls AND the other bull riders in our bracket-style, single-elimination event."

Then on Sunday, those Top 10 riders will head back for The American and a chance at a piece of the $2 million purse. This is the largest ever payout in the history of the sport. So the competition will be fierce. Payouts will include $100,000 to the winners of each of the following events ― bareback riding, bronc riding, team roping, tie-down roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling and bull riding. Second place receives $25,000.
