According to a new study from Chicco USA, researchers analyzed U.S. Census data from 350 cities to identify where families with children are most concentrated. Nationally, only 29.7% of households have kids, but several Texas cities are significantly outpacing that average.

Here are some standout Texas cities:

• Frisco: 46.4% of households have children, placing it among the top five cities in the nation.
• Laredo: 45.8% of households include kids.
• Atascocita: 45.1% of households are raising children.

These numbers highlight a trend: Texas cities are becoming hubs for families seeking supportive communities.

A Surge in Young Children

The study also examined the percentage of children under five years old, revealing that some Texas cities have a notably young demographic:

• Edinburg: 42.5% of its under-18 population is under five, ranking it sixth nationally.
• Denton: Experienced a 28.5% increase in young children over the past five years.
• Sugar Land: There was a 20.8% rise in households with children during the same period.

These statistics suggest that more families are settling in Texas and starting families there.

Reflecting on our own experience, Donna and I often marvel at the energy and excitement that comes with a full house. While raising eight children had its challenges, the rewards were immeasurable. Each child brought their unique personality, dreams, and laughter into our home.
