A couple of weeks ago Paul Washburn with Rescue the Animals and Aaron Vannoy Animal Services Manager for the City of Abilene approached me with the idea of me living in that over-sized doghouse again, to draw attention to the unwanted animals at area shelters. I thought about it for a minute and said yes. The reason for me doing it again is simple, we are so close to setting an all time record for animals adopted here in Abilene that I'd hate to miss setting a new record while saving more pets.

Last year over 230 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies were rescued, over 300 pets were vaccinated and more than 500 big country pets were micro-chipped. There will be pets from several area animal shelters as well as the North Shore Animal League America from Port Washington NY. Please come out Friday, Saturday and Sunday to the Shops of Abilene in front of Pet Smart. I however, will be at the corner of Catclaw and Southwest Drive living in a doghouse bringing attention to all the homeless animals of West Texas.
