Bring Your Fur Babies to Abilene’s 2024 Barbie Dog Fur Ball
The Fur Ball, Abilene's annual Rescue the Animals fundraising event, will be taking place at the Abilene Convention Center on February 17. The 2024 Fur Ball will be themed as the "Barbie Dog Fur Ball" and is encouraging all attendees to dress their dogs - and themselves - according to the popular "Barbie" theme.
The Fur Balls of the past have all proven to be fun and entertaining for everyone, including our furry companions. This year's annual event will take place in the much larger area of the Abilene Convention Center to better accommodate all the attendees.
The "Doggie Buffet" will have all the tasty favorites your pooch will love, and is being provided by Pam's Pets & Fish Store from right here in Abilene (4620 North First Street). Dinner for the humans will be provided by one of the biggest canine supporters in Texas, Tom Perini at the Perini Ranch Steak House in Buffalo Gap (3002 FM 89).
The doors will open at 6 PM and dinner will be served at 7 PM. Following the dinner, the contesting will begin, along with a "Dinner Dance" for you and your dog. The contest will consist of a kid and their dog dance, an adult and their dog dance, the kids and their dog costume contest, the adults and their dog costume contest, the "Best Barbie and Ken" look-alike, the "Best Mom-Daughter and Dog" look-alike, and much more.
