UPDATED: Saturday April 13, 12:26am

Friday during the big "Emergency Adoption" at Claclaw and Southwest Drive, Handsome Jack was adopted by a loving family. While the names of the adopting family are not available, a huge thank you goes to them. Jack only had the weekend left on his life card, as do so many of the other animals at the adoption. There's still time to adopt during the huge "Emergency Adoption." I'll be standing on the corner of that busy intersection by my doghouse bringing attention to these homeless animals. Please Help.

Original Story: April 9th, 2013

It's kind of ironic that Handsome Jack the "black and white" pekingese mix was pick up by one of Abilene's finest in a "black and white" and brought into the Abilene Animal Shelter. Here's what I know about Handsome Jack, he got his name because he was running loose on a street called Handsome Jack. Jack is a two year old, full of energy,  pekingese that weighs only 16 pounds.

The fact that Handsome Jack (HJ) was picked up on March 29th and he's still at the shelter, has shelter officials thinking Jack may have been dumped. So, HJ is available for adoption right away.

Handsome Jack is very playful and full of energy. Can you help save Jack before he is put down? Tell anyone within earshot range and help spread the word about the KEAN-Critters up for adoption. Tell anyone that will listen and/or appreciate a story about a pet that needs love. KEAN-Critters really need to find homes right away. Please help.
