Texas Broke Another Jobs Record as People Are Going Back to Work
Texas just broke another jobs record, and I couldn’t be more proud. This is why I love Texans and our awesome state.
I've worked in Texas since February of 1978, and I’ve always believed there’s nothing more important than having a good, strong job and being part of a solid workforce. That’s why, every time our great state breaks another employment record, I feel compelled to write about it. This month, Texas did it again, and in a big way.

Texas Is Leading the Nation in Jobs Again
According to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas reached all-time highs in February 2025 for total jobs, the number of Texans working, and the overall size of our labor force. We now have over 15.7 million Texans in the labor force and over 15.1 million actively working — that includes self-employed individuals. And with 14.25 million nonfarm jobs, we added more than 20,000 jobs in February alone.
Even more impressive, Texas added 182,300 jobs over the past year, the most in the entire United States. While other states are worrying about a recession, Texas is thriving.
There’s Just Something Different About Working in Texas
I once took a job overseeing more than 20 country radio stations nationwide. Sounds impressive, right? But I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. So, I came back home. Because here in Texas, the work environment is different. It’s a feel. It’s a vibe. It’s family. It’s freedom. It’s opportunity.
Texas is where the future is building, and I am personally very proud to be a part of it.
