DIY: How to Make a Cupcake Rose Bouquet
A couple of years ago my mom and I took cake decorating classes and I have had a blast making cakes and cupcakes for family and friends. This Mother's Day I decided to make my mom and my boyfriends mom a cupcake rose bouquet instead of buying flowers that would just die in a few days. I have to say they loved it, so much in fact, they didn't want to eat the cupcakes because it would ruin the bouquet. This looks hard but it's actually pretty simple, even if you don't know much about decorating cakes. You can buy the simple tools for just a few dollars at any hobby store. You need a decorating bag, a 1M decorating tip and a connector to keep the tip in place. Here is a list of supplies you will need.
Supplies:
- 1 flower pot of choice
- Green tissue paper
- 1/2 Styrofoam ball
- Newspaper or grocery plastic bags for filler
- Something for a little weight
- 6-8 cupcakes
- icing of color choice
Here is the instructional video to walk you through the process of making your own cupcake rose bouquet. These are great for any occasion and I promise they will be loved.
