Here’s a New Place to Dine on Saturdays in the Big Country
Do you have or have this discussion with your spouse? "Where do you want to go for dinner tonight?" Your spouse responds, "I don't know where would you like to go for dinner tonight?" and you reply with "I don't know that's why I was asking you!"
Then when you finally "settle" on a place to dine at and as you wait on your drink order, you realize and say, "Wow! We should have gone to the American Legion Hall Parramore Post 57 at 302 East South 11th Street, Abilene."
Keep in mind that there is no menu to choose from and everybody that dines there gets the same dish. Here's what I'm talking about, on the first Saturday of the month you get to dine on fried fish with all the trimmings. On the second Saturday, you get chicken fried steak with all the trimmings, and yet on the third Saturday, you get Tacos with all the extras.
And I don't know who is doing all the cooking but the food is freaking awesome, and they have adult beverages too. The best part is when you dine at the American Legion Hall in Abilene, you are supporting our West Texas Veterans, and that is way too cool!
A few final thoughts are to get there early because they run out of food, they start serving at 5:30 PM. They only serve food on the first three Saturdays of every month.
The fish fry is prepared by the "Sons of the Legion," the chicken fried steak dinner is by the Ladies Auxillary, and "Taco Night" is hosted by the Legionnaires. Bon appetite!
Fried Fish Dinner Every 1st Saturday of the Month is Only $15
Chicken Fried Steak on the 2nd Saturday of the Month is $15
Taco Dinner is the 3rd Saturday of the Month and it's Only $10
