Feast and Bid at the Wild Bunch Bonanza, Courtesy of ECCA Fire Dept
It's well known that when anybody calls on the ECCA Volunteer Fire Department for help, they come running. Well, for the past 22 years, the ECCA VFD has needed us to return the favor by attending and participating in their "Wild Bunch Bonanza".
The main reason the ECCA VFD raises money through their Wild Bunch Bonanza is because they are in dire need of a new fire station and community center. For the most part, the new fire station and community center are complete. But there is still a little work to be done.
The fire station and community center have been built mostly by the funds raised at the annual bonanza. Again this year, they are printing ONLY 400 tickets; no more will be printed or allowed in.
So get your tickets early and come hungry as there will be lots of great food and tons of fantastic auction items. Let us not forget the awesome door prizes either, from the $50 cash every hour to the incredible Ruger Ranch rifle. This year if you win the rifle door prize, you will get to pick the caliber and finish.
Fire Chief Young says there are a lot of things that still need to be done to accommodate the updated fire station, like newer equipment, funds to fuel the trucks, and everyday operational needs.
The photos below show some of the blazes the ECCA Volunteer Fire Department has battled, as well as some of the Wild Bunch Bonanza auction items. If you're in the mood for some great food, awesome music, and an exciting auction, Saturday afternoon has your name written all over it. Tickets can be purchased at:
- Coronado's Camp on US-277
- The Muffler Shoppe at 1141 S. Treadaway
- Fire Chief Gary Young at 325-669-9110
The Wild Bunch Bonanza is Saturday, January 27, 2024, and the gates open at 10 AM. Call to buy tickets, donate cash, or auction items. Now is the time for all of us to assist the ECCA Volunteer Fire Department.
