It's that time of year again, time for the 50th annual Fiesta de La Paloma in Coleman, Texas. The original "Fiesta de La Paloma" was a traditional religious festival celebrated in Madrid, Spain.

The "Festival of the Dove" is a colorful fiesta. Since dove hunting season opened recently, the idea of a dove festival takes on an entirely different meaning in Texas. For the most part, the Texas festivals are dove cook-offs.
