Join the 2024 Fall Festival Fun at Abilene’s Sacred Heart Church
Fall Festivals: A Time for Faith, Family, and Fun
As the weather continues to cool down in Abilene, one of the things I look forward to is walking hand in hand with my wife through the many local fall festivals hosted by our community churches. There's something special about these events, especially when parishioners share their cherished family recipes. For me, it's about faith, family, and, of course, delicious food.
One festival that stands out year after year is the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Fall Festival, happening this September 28th and 29th at 837 Jeanette St. in Abilene. It’s a family-friendly weekend filled with fun activities and incredible food. This year, festival-goers can enjoy a silent auction, a raffle, and live entertainment by DJ Mex-Mix and Double D Entertainment. There’s also bingo, games for all ages, and plenty of food options, including brisket, turkey legs, roasted corn, and a variety of festival favorites like funnel cakes, snow cones, and nachos.
A Cultural Feast Awaits
What sets this festival apart are the unique Puerto Rican and Filipino food booths, offering something special to the menu. And don't forget about the delicious Mexican breakfast on Sunday morning! These booths are a highlight, offering a chance to experience diverse flavors right here in Abilene.
More Than Just an Event—It’s a Community Tradition
Every year, we find ourselves reconnecting with friends, neighbors, and fellow parishioners while enjoying the simple pleasures—whether it’s bidding on auction items, cheering at the kids' contests, or savoring a plate of homemade tacos. Last year was the biggest and most successful Sacred Heart Fall Festival in recent memory, and this year promises to be even better.
So, mark your calendars and come out to enjoy this beautiful community event. It’s the perfect way to kick off the fall season and spend quality time with loved ones here in the Big Country.
