Unexpected Places to Do Your Christmas Shopping in West Texas

Sometimes the best Christmas gifts aren’t found at the mall or big-box stores, they’re hiding in places you’d never expect. Over the weekend, my wife and I discovered one of these hidden gems while enjoying breakfast at a truck stop in Tye, Texas. We were at the Denny’s inside the Flying J, when I noticed the gift shop right there in the same building.

What caught my eye was their coffee mugs. The server explained that these mugs, made of thicker clay, are designed to keep coffee a bit warmer for longer. I thought, “What a great gift for the coffee drinkers on my list!” That’s when my wife said, “We could do some Christmas shopping here!” And she was right, the truck stop gift shop had all kinds of unique and practical items I never would have thought to look for.

The experience got me thinking: Where else can you find unexpected, unique Christmas gifts? I asked my radio listeners on Monday to share their favorite out-of-the-box shopping spots, and the responses were fantastic. I even visited a few of the locations myself to check out the gifts they recommended (check out the photos I took shown below👇). Here’s what I found:
