Two Arrested for Selling Fentanyl With Their Kids in the Car
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office has been busy lately, arresting a man and a woman in the Abilene area for child reckless endangerment of a child after the couple was witnessed and caught selling fentanyl in the presence of some small children in the vehicle they were in.
Suspects Were Identified and Arrested
The couple Juan Ramon Rodriguez and Precillia Hope Mayorga. The two were arrested and taken into custody on Thursday following an investigation the Taylor County Sheriff's Office was conducting. Deputies had initially gone to an apartment on West Lake Road to arrest Rodriguez on another outstanding warrant for robbery from the Dallas County Sheriff's office. Upon arrival, Taylor County Deputies found Rodriguez in a vehicle driven by Mayorga, who also had small children in the back seat.
Fentanyl and Large Cash Seized
During the arrest, authorities discovered Rodriguez was carrying over 100 fentanyl pills and a large amount of cash. The severity of the situation prompted the involvement of both the Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services due to the presence of children in an environment where illegal drugs were being sold.
“During the investigation, it was discovered that illegal drugs had been sold in the presence of the small children,” the press release from the Sheriff’s Office stated.

Additional Charges Filed
In addition to child endangerment, Rodriguez faces multiple charges, including:
- Manufacture/Delivery of Fentanyl
- Possession of Mushrooms
- Possession of a Dangerous Drug
- Possession of Marijuana

Rodriguez remains in the Taylor County Jail with bonds exceeding $80,000. Mayorga is being held on a $7,500 bond. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not released additional details.
