Maria Bamford’s ‘Lady Dynamite’ Spoofs Netflix Pitch in First Season 2 Teaser
It’s been over a year since Netflix first brought us Maria Bamford’s pug-tastic Lady Dynamite, and we’re finally getting back in her head. Our first Season 2 teaser sets a November premiere, and takes a few potshots at Netflix in the process.
Where the first Lady Dynamite debuted in late July of 2016 (easily one of the best shows that year), the new Season 2 teaser promises a November 10 premiere. Ana Gasteyer also returns in the new footage, as Netflix’s seemingly unlimited series orders get their proper due. So reads the Lady Dynamite Season 2 synopsis:
This season finds our precious Maria embarking on her greatest adventure ever — love. Maria will use all the wrong lessons learned in childhood as she navigates her new relationship status with family, friends and pugs. She also lands a new gig at a streaming network that may or may not be owned by Elon Musk.
In addition to SNL alum Gasteyer, the series stars Fred Melamed, Mary Kay Place, Ed Begley, Jr., Mo Collins and Olafur Darri. Guest stars for Season 1 included Dean Cain, June Diane Raphael, Jenny Slate, Sarah Silverman, Tig Notaro, Patton Oswalt, John Mulaney, Mira Sorvino, Brandon Routh, Seth Meyers, Judd Apatow, Jon Cryer and more.
We’ll likely see more in October, so check out Season 1 of Lady Dynamite on Netflix while we wait.
