As the temperatures continue to drop, chances are that many people are looking for a way to warm up in the comfort of their own home. And there is no better way to do that with a yummy Hot Cocoa Pudding Shot.

Yes, you heard us right.

Sure, hot cocoa can usually do the trick when it comes to taking the chill out of your bones this time of the year. But isn’t everything better with a little Baileys Irish cream?

You bet it is.

And there is no better way to celebrate National Cocoa Day on Friday (Dec. 13) than by downing one or two of these. That is, as long as you are staying in for the night!

Borrowed from our friends at, the recipe brings together all of the traditional ingredients of delicious hot cocoa along with the welcome surprise of a little pudding and a whole lot of Baileys Irish Cream. And whatever you do, don't forget the marshmallows.

1 (3.9-oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (.73-oz) packet hot cocoa mix
2/3 c. whole milk
2/3 c. Baileys Irish Cream
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Whipped cream, for serving
Cocoa powder, for serving
Marshmallow bits, for serving


  1. In a large bowl, combine chocolate pudding and cocoa mix with milk. Whisk until fully incorporated. Add Baileys and vanilla and whisk again. Pour into cups and refrigerate until thickened, 2 hours.
  2. Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of cocoa powder, and marshmallow bits. Serve.
