This one went down to the wire, Cowboy the Golden/Pyrenees mix was adopted Saturday. Aaron Vannoy the Director for Abilene Animal Control Shelter said, "Cowboy was adopted by Danielle Molina on Saturday afternoon just before we closed. She already had a great Pyrenees retriever named Charlie. Now Charlie has a buddy named Cowboy." Thanks to everyone that shared the blog and helped spread the word on Cowboy. A big thank you to Miss Molina for giving Cowboy a place to call home. It is  impossible to help animals without your support. Still, more critters need homes, see more shelter info below.

Can You help save this gentle giant they call Cowboy?

This 63 pound cuddly teddy bear of a dog, is part Golden Retriever part Great Pyrenees. Cowboy is very lovable, extremely friendly and frankly, his time at the Abilene Animal Shelter has run out. The second I hitched Cowboy up to the leash I thought, "this is someones well trained pet." He knows what the leash is for and very happy to get outside where he would rather be. I gently tugged on the leash and Cowboy sat right down for me.

It was off to the great outdoors, where Cowboy and I encountered one of the rescued horses at the pound. Although Cowboy was found roaming in north Abilene and never picked up by his previous owners, this KEAN Critter has been around horses and live stock because Cowboy respected the horses space and was friendly with the horse. Cowboy just needs some space to call his own, I believe in my heart that this guy will make an awesome companion. If you have the acreage or the yard, Cowboy is perfect for you, as you can see he likes to stick close to people.
