Cinco de Mayo Celebration in Abilene Includes Food, Games and Live Music
This year marks the 31st annual Cinco de Mayo celebration in Abilene at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church. Abilene's biggest Cinco de Mayo is the love and labor of the St. Vincent's parishioners. Pascual Mirelez owner of Mirelez Productions says "this is a family friendly event that features a softball tournament, dozens of food booths, bounce houses, children's games, bingo, adult games and lots of live music. The event is mostly free with the exception of food and games."
The entertainment this year will include Conjunto Baraja De Oro, Anjelique, Tejano Flashback, Mirelez Productions Dee-Jay, Texas Tornados Line Dancers, Maria Hernandez Mariachi singer, Zumba Dancers and more. Festivities will begin Saturday Morning and continue until Sunday evening. The annual event also hosts a softball tournament that starts Saturday morning and continues through the weekend. If you plan on attending even organizers say wear comfortable shoes and come hungry.
