Recognize Anyone? Abilene’s Music Memories In Photos
Take a look at these photos below. Do you recognize anyone?
I’ve gathered about two dozen pictures of me with artists, backstage moments, and performances from concerts around Abilene and West Texas. Looking through them reminded me why I love what I do, and why our community deserves a standing ovation.

Yes, Abilene Is Officially Music Friendly
Abilene earned its official Music Friendly Community certification from the Governor’s Texas Music Office in September 2019.
According to the Texas Music Office, the program helps communities support musicians, venues, and music businesses through partnerships and a statewide network. It also encourages music tourism and local economic growth.
Then COVID arrived in 2020, interrupting concerts and gatherings. In my opinion, we didn’t get to enjoy that recognition nearly enough before everything changed. Today, I think it’s worth celebrating all over again. Woo-hoo, Abilene!
We’ve Supported Music For Years
For decades, I’ve attended concerts, broadcast live, and served as master of ceremonies, introducing artists onstage. Our radio stations have always been big supporters of music, including welcoming artists into our studios.
That support reaches beyond Abilene. We support the Big Time Bash in Baird, and we also support and help emcee Outlaws & Legends right here in Abilene.
Whether I’m behind a studio microphone or introducing somebody to a cheering crowd, I’m proud to help connect artists with the people who love their music.
Take A Look: Do You Recognize Anyone?
Some of these photos might bring back a concert you attended. Others might show a familiar face or an artist you first heard on our stations.
That’s what I love about this gallery: it’s a collection of musical memories we’ve helped make together.
Scroll through the photos below and see who you recognize. Were you at any of these shows? I’d love to hear your memories, too!
