The Children's Art and Literacy Festival is set for June 6th through the 8th, 2019. Abilene, which is known as the "Storybook Capital of Texas,” will transform historic downtown into a childhood land of adventure.

What exactly is an 'Arts and Literacy Festival'? Check out the above video to see how much fun and the different events past festivals have had to offer those attendees.

Peter Brown will be the featured illustrator/author to be honored in 2019. Brown wrote  children's books like, 'Mr. Tiger Goes Wild' (as can be seen in the video below), 'The Wild Robot', 'Creepy Carrots' just to name a few. Peter also did books like 'Children Make Terrible Pets', 'The Curious Garden' and 'Creepy Pair Of Underwear'.

Registration for the 8th annual festival is open. The Abilene Cultural Affairs Council expects over 4,000 people to register for events like; the 'Write & Illustrate Workshop', 'Digital Character Creation Workshop' and a 'Special Dinner at the NICCL.'

Just like past festivals, they are expected to sell out long before the deadline. So get your tickets early. Get your tickets at the Cultural Affairs Council at the T&P Depot 1101 North First Street, Abilene.
