You won’t want to miss Corey Kent at Betty Rose’s Little Brisket on September 1 at 8:00 PM. This Oklahoma native cut his teeth on Western Swing music, opening for the likes of Roy Clark and the Oak Ridge Boys at the tender age of 11. Kent penned his first number-one hit (William Clark Green’s ‘Hit you Where It Hurts’) after graduating with a degree in business. His current single (a duet with Koly Cooper titled ‘Ain’t My Day’, link above) is climbing the charts.

As the 2020 Texas Music Pickers Songwriter Competition winner, Kent’s tightly-written lyrics are no true surprise. Even his more emotional work, like ‘Hit You Where It Hurts’ and 2020’s ‘Gold’ (link below) paints succinct pictures of both tangible details and deep heartache that make them even sharper in contrast.

Taylor Ochs kicks off the show at 7:00 PM.

Admission to the Summer Concert Series is free, so come early to secure your seat and bring your lawn chairs.
