Best Love Songs in Texas and Just in Time for Valentine’s Day
Okay, okay, I'll admit it from the very start, I confess that I'm a sucker for a love song, and it doesn't even have to be a good one. And, while I'm confessing it all here, the genre doesn't matter either, so long as the words say what I'm feeling deep in my heart when it comes to love songs. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I felt that it was imperative to check the national music publications.
While I've been a broadcast entertainer for over 50 years my choice of love songs has changed and grown over the past five decades. While I searched "Billboards' National Charts" to discover what is in the "Top 50 Love Songs of All Time" I didn't agree with all of them, but I did find myself saying, "Wow! I'd forgotten about that song and it's a good one too."
Now, before I continue I must warn you, "It is not my fault if you find yourself sitting in a quiet moment or wandering around the house or office singing a love song that got stuck in your brain," I call that the "Christmas Song Effect, or CSE." Over the Christmas holidays, my lovely wife had the television on a channel playing nothing but old Christmas movies when all of a sudden I heard a song come on that I had not heard in years and that's when CSE set in.
The song I'm referring to is, "A Kiss To Build A Dream On." The song was first done by Louis Armstrong but in this movie, it was sung by the female star playing the lead role (I'm sorry I can't remember who that was because I wasn't paying attention to the movie that was playing in the background). So, since before Christmas, that song has been playing over and over again in my brain. Just in time for Valentine's Day right?
I love that song so much that I find myself looking into my wife's eyes and singing "Give Me a Kiss to Build a Dream On and my imagination will thrive upon that kiss. Sweetheart....blah blah blah" You get the idea. So let's look at these as "My Top Love Songs" and then the actual Billboard top love songs.
The Fearless Top 5 Love Songs:
- "My Endless Love" - Lionel Richie and Diana Ross
- "I Will Always Love You" - Dolly Parton / Whitney Houston

For the record, I looked over all of the charts, and everything I saw, was a great love song. What's your favorite love song of all time share it with me, I'd even like to play it on the show. So find your favorite love song look your sweetie straight in the eyes and start singing.
Finally, Again, it is not my fault if you end up singing any of these songs well past Valentine's Day.
