Come Celebrate the Texas Rangers 200th Birthday at Badges, Boots and Bling
The "Community and Rangers DPS Day" is the Celebration of the Texas Rangers' 200th Birthday and it's open to the public with some free admission to certain events on July 21st from 10 AM until 2 PM. There will also be a blood drive, living historians, a lecture series, food, shopping, and you can even meet some real Texas Rangers. Visit with some of the DPS Recruiters, Troopers, pilots, special agents, and more to learn about DPS tech stuff like the Cyclone, Crisis Negotiation Unit, SUVs, Drones, Helicopters, and much more.
"Badges, Boots, and Bling" is the special part of the event that is the main fundraiser and the Texas Ranger Appreciation Gala. It will be July 21st, 2023, and held at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center at 1501 Mac Davis Lane in Lubbock from 6 PM until 11 PM.
This gala will include a western cocktail and dinner, live and silent auctions, and dancing to the live music of the Ray Johnston Band. You can purchase tickets, a table, or even a sponsorship. Tickets are $150 a person, while tables are only $ 1,500 and seat a total of ten persons. Recommended attire for this event will be Western-casual.
The Bicentennial of the Texas Rangers Classic Sporting Clay Shoot will be held at Hub City Clays 1475 County Road 1 in Lubbock. The shooting event takes place on Saturday, July 22nd. Sporting Clay teams start at $600 and additional sponsorships are available.
I learned years ago that before you can even become considered to be a Texas Ranger you have to be a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper first. So come and celebrate the history of the Texas Rangers and learn what it takes to become a true Texas Ranger. The Community and Rangers DPS Day is being celebrated Statewide in Lubbock. See you there.
