Children’s Author Maurice Sendak Goes ‘Wild’ With Stephen Colbert [VIDEO]

Despite his dislike of children and children’s books, Stephen Colbert interviewed legendary ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ author Maurice Sendak on ‘The Colbert Report.’

The 83-year old proved to be the perfect Colbert guest, responding to the host’s shtick with a kind of clear-headed grumpy charm that we should all hope to possess when we get to be Sendak’s age.

In the part 2 of the hilarious interview, Sendak and Colbert enjoy the sweet, sweet smell of markers.
