Abilene Community Theatre Will Announce Their 59th Season With an ‘Oscars’ Like Party February 24th
With the Academy Awards coming up on Sunday, February 24th. The Abilene Community Theatre (ACT) will be rolling out the red carpet and hosting an "Oscars" like party at the Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA) in downtown Abilene, complete with entertainment, food, beverages, decorations and more. All this is being done to announce the 59th season of the Abilene Community Theatre, Sunday from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM.
Even if you can't afford a trip to Hollywood to partake in the real "Oscars" festivities, ACT and the Center for Contemporary Arts are stopping at nothing to bring you an event like no other. You are encouraged to dress the part as if you are going to the Oscars. So get into the Tinseltown spirit and find out what the 2013-2014 season will bring at the ACT playhouse. What ties the 59th season at ACT and the Academy Awards together? Simple, every show of the upcoming season has also been a movie.
The theme for this year is "From Stage To Screen To Abilene." So, what shows will the Abilene Community Theatre be doing this coming year? Mum is the word from those on the inside that know. When I asked for a hint I was told "you loved the screen versions of these classic films but you'll still have to come to our party to find out."
