The good news is, these two awesome dachshunds will live. However, they are still in need of a home, Abilene Animal Control Director Aaron Vannoy called to tell me that "the Taylor-Jones Humane Society rescued both dogs to keep them from being put down. They did ask that I tell folks where these two dachshunds went in the event someone wants to adopt them." The Taylor-Jones Humane Society at 2301 North 3rd Street is a no-kill shelter and will care for the two dachshunds until a home is found.

Original Story: June 6th, 2013

A pair of Dachshunds that their owner turned in, in Sweetwater are here in Abilene now and are looking for a loving and understanding home that knows the needs and behavior of two very well behaved Dachshunds. The darker brown one is male and the all lighter brown one is a female and both can be found at the Abilene Animal Control Shelter.

These two Dachshunds are very sweet, gentle and they appear to be well trained. They know the command sit, stay and no. The later came in handy when I opened the gate to their kennels and the little brown one tried to squeeze out, I said "no sit!" and they did it. Please help save these two very beautiful KEAN Critters. The little female is 2 years old and the male is 3 years old.

Help spread the word about the KEAN-Critters up for adoption, tell anyone that will listen and/or appreciate a story of some awesome pets that need love and a good home. Because they are owner turn ins they can be put down right away, They only have a couple of days. Please help.
