The 6th Annual Dachshund Races are Returning to Abilene July the 18th

The 6th Annual Dachshund Races and "Rescued Dog Reunion" will take place July 18th at Festival Gardens by the Abilene Zoo. This is every dogs show, not just the ones with papers! Come show off your rescued dog in the show ring before the Dachshund Races. Dress up and dress up your dog for our Costume Contest.

This years judges will have a ton of trophies to award and I would like to see your K-nine companion take one home too. As we say in the KEAN Critter camp "every dog is a winner!" Here's a list of the categories:

Register online at RescueTheAnimals.org. or contact them at 325-695-SPCA and rescue will mail the forms if necessary. Rescue the Animals, SPCA is located at 5933 South First and it operates from 1:00 to 5:00 Mon.-Sat.  Register on race day at the event. Any Dachshund can race. All dogs must be current on shots and be on a leash at all times except when racing. Each dog racing will require two people to participate. One person will be at the start line and one at the finish line.
