West Texas Fair and Rodeo was recognized and honored during the 2022 Texas ProRodeo Circuit Finals. The West Texas Fair and Rodeo that takes place around the 2nd and 3rd weeks in September is a PRCA Rodeo presented by RAM sanctioned event and takes place at the Taylor Telecom Arena.

During the 2022 Texas ProRodeo Circuit Finals held in Waco, the West Texas Fair & Rodeo was recognized as the leading Rodeo Committee in a Medium Rodeo division.

The West Texas Fair and Rodeo was voted for this distinguishing honor by the top Texas cowboys and cowgirls competing in the ProRodeo Circuit. The West Texas Fair & Rodeo Rodeo Committee was ranked third in the state among 15 other highly competitive events.

A Legendary Breakaway Champion Represented Abilene and the WTF&R

Lari Dee Guy the legendary breakaway roping champion that blazed the trail for women in professional rodeo was in attendance to receive this award and represent the Abilene and the West Texas Fair and Rodeo Committee.

The Executive Vice President and General Manager of the West Texas Fair & Rodeo, Rochelle Johnson said “we're proud of the committee members and their dedication to the sport of rodeo." Rochelle scontinued with "this group of volunteers contribute many hours of their valuable time to produce a top-notch event for these ProRodeo athletes. We are truly thankful to have such a devoted Rodeo Committee.”
