Show your support by joining the 'Big Country Walk for Autism' on Saturday, April 1st, at Red Bud Park at 3125 South 32nd Street behind the YMCA. Abilene Spectrum Connection is a non-profit organization that will be hosting the 2nd Annual 5K Walk/Run to for Autism Awareness, Acceptance, and Education.

First off, Spectrum Connection was founded in January 2022 to fill the gap and a need in the Abilene community. They are a group of people who have spent their entire lives working with families and felt a deep hole that was left after COVID when the Autism Walks were no more.

Spectrum Connection says "our goals are to revive the walk for autism and to get people back together, to share information on resources and create that sense of belonging that seemed to be missing while everyone was so isolated during the height of the Pandemic." Source: Spectrum Connection

Spectrum Connection will also continue raising money to help those Big Country families purchase the necessary items members of the families need. An application for assistance is available on their website

This event will feature friendly activities for the entire family, Star Wars characters, a resource fair, support groups, colorful slime splashing,  and so much more. Get your team together and join the walk.
