Abilene Zoo Extends Christmas Lights for Magical Holiday Fun!

Christmas Magic Continues at the Abilene Zoo with Extended Zoo Lights Hours

The Abilene Zoo is keeping the holiday spirit alive and going with an extended Zoo Lights event! Originally scheduled to end on December 23, the celebration will now be extended to run all the way through January 4, 2025, giving families even more opportunities to experience the awesome magic of the holiday season.

Extended Hours and New Opportunities for Fun

From December 26 to January 4, the zoo will remain open every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the lights beginning to twinkle at 4 p.m. Although Santa has returned to the North Pole, his reindeer in training will still be on exhibit, delighting guests throughout the event.

Key activities and schedules include:

• Zoo opens: 9 a.m.
• Giraffe Feeding: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (weather permitting)
• Reindeer Viewing: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Zoo Carousel: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Lights Come On: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Hot Chocolate, Coffee, and Cappuccino: Available for purchase from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
