Today's country stars share the wealth. Most of the singers and songwriters are always giving back to their favorite charities by hosting and/or performing live at concerts. Some of those country stars volunteer to work or sit on the board in an advisory position. Giving back to charities seems to be growing, especially in Nashville or shall I say with the country genre. It's not just the big name superstar artists either. Check out who's in the giving mood now days.

We've all heard the stories of when Elvis would hear or read a story of someone in need and he would go or arrange for that person in need to get what was needed. Like the story of the waitress at the diner he had just eaten at was walking on a hot summer day. Elvis went and bought her a new Cadillac complete with A/C.

Wynonna and Naomi Judd will be performing on Oct. 18 to benefit the Franklin Theater. Clay Walker hosts Holiday Notes From Home at the Nashville Opry House with special guests Little Big Town, Lee Ann Womack and others. The concert airs on Christmas day as a Christmas special for Armed Forces Radio & Television network.

Jimmy Wayne and the Energizer Bunny just donated $30,000, to the Save The Music Foundation at Nashville’s Norman Binkley Elementary School. The grant will provide 16 new keyboards for the school to encourage kids to get involved in music.

Music City Honor Flight will hold America’s Greatest Picnic on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet, the annual fundraiser supports and honors surviving Tennessee veterans of WWII. The event features performances by Bo Bice, Martin Ramey, John Ford Coley, Reverend Zack and the Good News Blues and Greez Monkeez. There will also be a public guitar pull, Pickin’ for a Patriot. All money raised will benefit Music City Honor Flight.  Then there's a 30 Days Of Hope event a month-long campaign that helps raise money and awareness of childhood cancer. More than a dozen successful singer/songwriters such as Brice Long, Bridgette Tatum, Wynn Varble, and Billy Yates just to name a few will partake in the event.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is Martina McBride's Fan Club from five states they walk at LP Field. They are Making Strides Against Breast Cancer on Oct 15th. They have invited members of the country music industry to walk with them to support the American Cancer Society and breast cancer research. Vince Gill hosts two separate events for different charities one is the Celebrity Softball Game and the other is a golf tournament. Emmylou Harris started and helps maintain Bonaparte's Retreat, an animal rescue no kill shelter for dogs and cats.

Craig Morgan has his 5th annual Charity Motocross Ride, Concert and Sporting Clay Shoot. The weekends activities benefit Billy’s Place, which is supporting children's causes in Tennessee and working toward building a home for temporarily displaced children.

How about Randy Owen of Alabama and the hundreds of singers and songwriters that have helped raise money for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Let us not forget the scores of country stars that lent their talent time and money to help their own city recover from last years devastating floods. From Keith Urban to Taylor Swift, From Kenny Chesney to rocker Kid Rock. Everybody seems to do their fair share in helping make America a much better place to live.
