West Texas Wine Festival Returns to Abilene October 17
There is something different about a festival in West Texas, especially when it brings food, Texas wine, music, and friends together at one of my favorite historic places in Abilene.

The fourth annual West Texas Wine Festival returns to Frontier Texas on Saturday, October 17, from noon until 5 p.m. on the Outdoor Parade Grounds.
I attended the festival during its first two years and had a great time. I missed last year because I was out broadcasting live, but I am already making plans to get back there this year.
A Festival That Supports Frontier Texas
What makes this event even better is that it is a fundraiser benefiting Frontier Texas.
Frontier Texas does more than preserve our area's history. It helps introduce children and families to the people, stories, and events that helped shape Texas and the West. The facility also serves as a gathering place for numerous civic, charitable, and community events throughout the year.
That makes spending an afternoon at the wine festival another way to help support an important Abilene attraction.
Texas Wine With a Big Country Feel
I've attended wine festivals in the Metroplex, and while they're impressive, there is something about the Abilene festival that feels more relaxed and community-minded.
Visitors can meet winery representatives, learn about Texas vineyards, grab something from the food trucks, enjoy music, and spend time with friends and neighbors.
Frontier Texas Development Director Whitney Herrington says many of the participating wineries are family-owned, giving guests an opportunity to learn the stories and history behind the people producing Texas wines.
Executive Director Jeff Salmon says October is Texas Wine Month, making the event a perfect time to showcase wineries and vineyards from across the Lone Star State.
General admission includes 10 one-ounce pours, with early-bird tickets priced at $40 through October 6. Regular admission is $50, VIP admission is $100, and non-drinker admission is $10. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit the Frontier Texas West Texas Wine Festival online
Come enjoy the afternoon and help support Frontier Texas.
