'SNL' has a longstanding tradition of elevating music stars with presence to full-time hosts, rather than simple musical guests. We've seen the experiment largely succeed with acts like the recent Bruno Mars, and may get a taste of it in the future with recent rumors surrounding Justin Bieber, but now 'The Voice' judge and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine is the latest to take up hosting duties. Will Maroon 5 provide the musical entertainment, or has another act been chosen?

Who needs Maroon 5? Frontman Adam Levine has proved in recent years that he has enough magnetism on his own, with starring turns in 'American Horror Story: Asylum,' and of course his longstanding role as judge to 'The Voice.' According to TVLine, 'Saturday Night Live' is the latest to tap Levine's talents, but as a host rather than a musical guest!

Levine will take the 'Saturday Night Live' stage on January 26, one week after 'The Hunger Games' star Katniss Jennifer Lawrence volunteers for hosting duties. Joining Levine as the musical act for the week is hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar, whose debut album 'good kid, m.A.A.d city' went gold following its October release.

What say you? Do you think Adam Levine has enough charisma to host 'SNL' on his own? Which of the upcoming hosts are you most looking forward to see? Check out a deleted scene from the holiday episode below, and give us your thoughts in the comments!
