Outlaws & Legends Music Festival will Spread the Wealth to Other Charities in Abilene for 2013
The Outlaws & Legends music festival featuring Texas music artists and donates the money raised from the festival to Disability Resources, Inc. (DRI) now, will spread the wealth to other nonprofit Abilene organizations in 2013.
Backporch Productions the producer/promoter for ‘Outlaws and Legends Music Fest’ has been working with DRI over the last two years. Festival organizer Mark Powell says “in the last two years Outlaws and Legends has given Disability Resources over $47,000.00 and It’s time we spread the wealth to other local nonprofits in Abilene. All a nonprofit has to do is apply”.
“As we look to the future, we would like to facilitate more of a community approach, affording us the opportunity to work with and give back to other nonprofit organizations that express a deserving need and are committed to our ambitious desire to continue building this event into an even greater event for many years to come.”

At first Powell told me they were thinking of picking only one charity to be the benefactor however they would consider maybe multiple nonprofit organizations. The deadline for turning in the applications is September 28, 2012. The chosen nonprofit or nonprofits chosen will be announced on October 9, 2012.
