Two decades after Larry Gatlin's Grammy Awards trophy for Best Country Song in 1977 was stolen from the Gatlin Bros. Music City Grille in the '90s, the singer has announced that he wants his trophy back, and he's willing to pay a reward for its safe return. In an attempt to reach the thief, Gatlin delivered a statement to the Tennessean expressing, in no uncertain terms, that he expects the perpetrator to come forward.

"In this charged, heated atmosphere of politics that we live in ... where I believe that very little is viewed through the prism of what is true and what is right and wrong ... I have a question for someone in America out there," he says. "You have Larry Gatlin's Grammy for "Broken Lady" for Song of the Year. It's on your mantel or somewhere in your house. What do you tell people when they come over and ask you how you got Larry Gatlin's Grammy?"

The trophy isn't the only un-accounted-for piece of Gatlin's property: He is also searching for a black leather Manuel coat, which has his name embroidered inside. It was taken from the back of a car in Las Vegas.

According the Tennessean, Gatlin's recent experience with stolen items has inspired the country star to start a business. For this endeavor, he would like to talk to Angie Hicks. Though he doesn't know Hicks personally, she is the co-founder of Angie's List (a home services website where users can read reviews of business before deciding which to employ), and Gatlin wants to work together on a business called No Questions Asked, aiming at returning stolen items to their rightful owners.

"You pay $100, Angie takes $10," Gatlin explains. "You ship it to a warehouse and no one knows where it came from. I would love to have my Grammy back ... and my Manuel coat."

In his statement, Gatlin clarifies that in addition to offering a monetary award, he will promise not to seek legal action against the thief. "I'll give you a written statement that I won't prosecute you," he adds. "You can just say you bought it at a pawn shop."

Gatlin encourages anyone in possession of his award to email assistant@absolutepublicity.com to make arrangements to return the trophy.
