Hot Spring/Summer Shoe Trends for 2013

Like most women I am a sucker for shoes; and NO you can never have too many! I have probably have 50 pairs of shoes and that's probably a low guess. I have tennis shoes, boots, sandals, dress shoes, house shoes, hurt my feet but look cute shoes, and shoes still in the box. You have to have shoes for every outfit and event and season. It's now Spring so that means....New Shoes!

Two weeks ago I got my first pair of new Spring shoes. They are bright colored flats with ankle straps. Super cute and surprisingly comfortable. I saw so many cute shoes but decided on these because they would go with so many colors.

Here's what I have found will be most popular this Spring and Summer on the 'shoe front'.

Strappy:

Sandals this season should be strappy and the more straps the better. Think Gladiator sandals, straps all around the foot and up the ankle. Depending on the outfit you wear these can be cute or sexy. Even boots are getting a Spring/Summer strappy make-over. I personally think an ankle strap ups the 'sexy' in a shoe.

 Wedges:

Wedges are making a big comeback this year. While heels will never go out of style, a wedge gives you the height but are more stable and comfortable. The wedge is going to be hugely popular as a sneaker too. (I can't decide if they are cute or ugly but get ready you're going to see them a lot this season.) You can wear a wedge with shorts, capris, jeans, skirts and dresses; they are a very functional shoe.

Metallics/Prints/Bright Colors:

The whole shoe may be gold or silver or it may just have an accent piece here and there but metallics will be super hot this season. Bright, bold colors and prints will be seen in footwear this season. As I mentioned I bought a pair of sandals with these colors because they are versatile and multi-functional. Flower and animal prints and color blocking will be wildly popular too.

Pumps:

Pumps offer an alternative to the sky high heel. They are sexy and dressy without being obnoxious and dangerous to walk in. Pumps can go from work to evening and can be worn with almost anything and any of the above descriptions can be added to a pump.

Flats:

These are what I like to call the 'ballet slippers'. I have a couple pair of these, one solid black and one that is leopard print. These could also include such shoes as Bob's or Tom's. Again, they come in prints, many solid colors and metallics.
