Here’s Where to Find Coffee in and Around Abilene
While Abilene has certainly become known for all its churches and most recently it was brought to my attention that Abilene has a convenience store on nearly every corner. I started looking around and discovered that if you're looking for a cup of hot coffee that you don't have to go far.
As with every convenience store in and around Abilene, you can get gas and mostly a good cup of hot java. However, if you'd like a fancy-schmancy cup of coffee, you won't have to look too hard to find a good coffee shop in and around Abilene. As a matter of fact, I discovered that Starbucks Coffee Company is in just about every grocery store and inside our local hospital too.
Nonetheless, there are plenty of great places to get your favorite custom coffees. I've had the pleasure of broadcasting live from several coffee shops around Abilene. The one that really stuck out, was the Mulebarn Coffee House between Abilene and Hawley in a pasture. Then there's the one that combines custom coffees and frozen yogurts known as Mood Froyo & Coffee.
While I was checking out all the different coffee shops, I discovered that "Coffee Shops" aren't the only places to get good coffee. How about donut shops, grocery stores, and fast food places. So let's find out what coffee shops are here, and what their most popular coffees and desserts they sell more of with their custom coffees.
There are three coffee shops in the famous "Downtown District" of Abilene. The first I encountered is the Front Porch Coffee Co. & Bakery which is located on the corner on N.2nd and Plum Street. The Majestic Coffee Shop is at 191 Pine Street. The third one is The Hallows located at 258 Pine St. All three shops serve custom coffees, desserts, and specialty sandwiches.
