The 85th Annual Fort Griffin Fandangle in Albany is taking place from June 21st through June 30th. The Fandangle is a community production that brings together the people in and around Albany to tell the true story and history of the life and times of Fort Griffin.

The Fandangle is the oldest outdoor musical in the Lone Star State. This production is based on the real-life struggles of early settlers in the Albany area and Fort Griffin. The show features covered wagons, buggies, horses, cattle, a railroad replica, and over 250 locals playing the roles of the early settlers around Fort Griffin.

It all began over 85 years ago when Albany High School seniors put on a play that told the true stories of the "Texas Frontier": how the Native Americans hunted the prairie, how the settlers moved west with herds of Longhorn cattle, the soldiers who protected the civilization, and what life was like back in the day.
