From Meta Outage To Mega Relief: How Social Media Users in Texas Reacted
Meta, the mother company to Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and Threads, was down completely this Tuesday morning. Thousands of users worldwide were experienced a complete outage. It was then that the chatter on Microsoft Teams and cellular text worlds came alive.
I commented, "Oh GREAT! Texting and Teams are now the newest form of Facebook." It seemed like everyone here at Townsquare had something to say about the Facebook and Instagram outage. One coworker commented, "How nice and quiet it's going to be." Another said, "Will this count against my PTO?"

Within an hour or so, it was reported that Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and Threads were back and operational, to which another coworker commented, "Sad to report Facebook is now back." I guess it was a moment of peacefulness for some.
The Wall Street Journal was reporting that service on Meta's platforms were down in the United States as well as the U.K., Canada, and Mexico. Other countries reported outages too.

Nearly half a million users reported outages on Facebook and Instagram within the first few minutes. Downdetector, which tracks website outages, said about 77,000 Instagram users and 12,000 Messenger users reported issues.
The trouble began to show up shortly after 9 AM CST and the outage continued for about an hour.
The owner of X formerly Twitter, Elon Musk, commented on his platform, “If you’re reading this post, it’s because our servers are working.”
