The Abilene Cultural Affairs Council presents it's 3rd Annual Christmas in the Garden on Friday, December 4, 2020. This year due to the coronavirus pandemic, spacing and ticketing will be limited. The festivities take place on the Adamson-Spalding Storybook Garden lawn of the Abilene Convention Center. The garden’s storybook sculptures will be decorated with bright Christmas lights and adorned with holiday decorations.

In recent years there has only been one performance of Christmas in the Garden. However, due to the pandemic social distancing guidelines and the very limited capacity, there will be two separate showings of 'Christmas in the Garden' this year. Securing your tickets in advance is highly recommended.

You'll get to celebrate the Christmas holidays with some four-legged farm friends. This years theme is "Family Fun on the Farm" and will feature the 'May Farm Petting Zoo,' live live country music and farm-themed crafts and food.

The council is offering families two times that they can attend 'Christmas in the Garden' and those times are 5 to 6:30 pm and 7 to 8:30 pm with a limited capacity of 75 families for each performance. The cost is $10 per family.

Plus Mrs. Claus, as seen above will be reading “An Otis Christmas” written and illustrated by Loren Long, whose artwork will go on exhibit at the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature in downtown Abilene to kick off the 2021 Children’s Art & Literacy Festival.

Finally, families who want to ride the Storybook Capital Express and see Storybook Capital characters busy in Santa’s workshop can reserve a train car for $5, that fits up to five family members per train car, thus keeping safe and socially distant.
