Abilene Police Department Impound Auction: Public Sale of Abandoned Vehicles
The Abilene Police Department Impound Facility has announced its upcoming auction of abandoned and wrecked vehicles in partnership with ReneBates.com. The auction will open for bids on Monday, December 2, 2024, and will close at noon on Friday, December 6, 2024. Winning bidders can then arrange to remove their paid-for auction items.
This year’s auction features a wide variety of vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, SUVs, RVs, trailers, and more. While many vehicles were abandoned or involved in accidents, some are in relatively good condition, making the auction a great opportunity to find a deal on a vehicle or vehicle parts.
Vehicle Viewing Details
For those interested in viewing the vehicles in person, the impound lot will allow in-person inspections on Tuesday, December 3, and Wednesday, December 4, 2024, between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Outside of these dates and times, in-person viewing is not allowed. Photos and detailed descriptions of all vehicles are available on the auction website, ReneBates.com.
The Abilene Police Impound lot is located at 2349 Sandy Street in Abilene, off East Hwy 80 (Business 20), one mile east of Judge Ely Blvd. Turn south onto Shaffner Road and continue east at the intersection of Sandy Street.

Auction Guidelines
- Vehicle removal will be by appointment only, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- All purchased items must be removed from the impound lot by Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
- Items left beyond this date will incur a $25 daily storage fee per item.
- If using a third party or transport service for removal, the buyer must complete an Authorization of Release form.
