The Abilene Police Department (APD) is at it again, they are looking for good, strong, and eager police recruits. The application recruiting process will continue to run through Sunday, April 21, 2024. The academy is set to begin on Monday, October 7th, 2024.

Applications can be electronically submitted to the Abilene Police Department's website or All applications will be kept totally confidential. I would love to be one of Abilene's finest, however, I'm a little shorthanded and I will not make it through the screening process because of my birth defect.

If you are interested and you can make it through the screening process you should apply right now. Some of the pre-screening requirements I will list below as there are a few restrictions I learned about from Cati Wolfe, Recruitment Officer, and while some are what I call "duh-obvious" like you have to be a U.S. Citizen and at least 21 years old, and so on.
