How many of you still have old toys from your childhood? You might want to dig through them because many of them could be worth some pretty good money.

Many of my dolls and toys could be worth some serious cash these days. I collect Madame Alexander and Effanbee dolls, had Care Bears and Barbies all over my room many of which are worth upwards of $500.

My brother, on the other hand, liked Star Wars (the originals) items, Atari and Nintendo games, G.I. Joe and other boy stuff. Those too can be worth hundreds of dollars today.

Some items like Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears and Star Wars are being brought back today which actually makes the original/vintage items worth more. So you might want to head to your parents house or old storage units and pick through all those toys and make a little extra cash with them.

Here are a few items that might be worth a few hours of digging time:

  • Teddy Ruxpin - original with box in mint condition could be worth $100 plus
  • Cabbage Patch Kids - original (soft face) made by Xavier Roberts (not Mattel) could fetch $500 plus
  • Star Wars Figurines - Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca etc. can get you $400 - $1000 plus.
  • Barbie Dolls and Hot Wheels - Depending on rarity and condition $100 plus
  • Madame Alexander Dolls - Originals, in box, good condition before Alexander's death $500 plus
  • Ginny Dolls - Made by Vogue $550 plus or minus
  • Effanbee Dolls - Pre- '60s mint condition $500 plus

**These are rough estimates and by no means are hard set. Condition, demand and rarity are always factors.
