2013's big summer Pixar movie is 'Monsters University,' the prequel to their hit 'Monsters Inc.,' and a film that we're a little nervous about. Some Pixar sequels are good ('Toy Story 2' and '3' come to mind), but then there's 'Cars 2.' But a new featurette gives us a little more information about the plot, and yeah, it sounds a little bit like 'Revenge of the Nerds.'
I was worried 2012 would end and there wouldn't be a clear winner for the prize of Worst of the Year. 'Parental Guidance' was worth waiting for. It isn't just the worst film of 2012, it's the worst film of 2011 and probably 2013, too. 'Parental Guidance' is a cinematic hemorrhoid throbbing on the screen, its only purpose in life to cause pain and discomfort.
We've seen competing asteroid pictures, competing "Friends with Benefits" films, competing destructive volcano pictures, but in 2012 we're getting competing "Bonding with your parents" movies, both within a week of each other. First comes 'The Guilt Trip' on December 19, and then 'Parental Guidance' on December 25. Now there's a new trailer for the latter.

November 18, 2011 When the folks that promote the Macy's Thanksgiving parade decided to put out a television commercial, they picked the best pairing I've seen since Jerry and Dean. It is now my annual Thanksgiving tradition, I won't let a turkey day go by without pulling this video out, to put me in the holiday spirit. De Nero and Crystal make me laugh and get me to thinking about turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie.
