September 26, 2012 I checked with Elections Administrator's in Nolan, Brown and Taylor Counties, there appears to be two things all three administrators agree upon, one is 'the best way to get registered to vote'. Kristi Allyn, the Taylor County Elections Administrator said the guaranteed best way to get registered, is to go directly to the 'Elections Office' and register there. Taylor county was the only one that has several locations through-out the city where you can obtain a voter registration form.

September 5, 2012 Growing up here in Abilene, home of Dyess Air Force Base you see and hear some pretty cool stories about our military. One of which is does Dyess have nuclear missiles or not? That I'll leave for debate later. The other is about our local missile silos. In high school I heard all kinds of things about the missile silos most of which scared me.
September 3, 2012 Fashion's Night Out. I keep getting invites to events here in Abilene but I keep seeing it on Facebook, TV, magazines and I'm still confused as to what it really is. My curiosity sent me to the web to find out about this event, that apparently is turning 4 this year. Where have I been the last 3 years?

If there is one thing ladies like to do it's shop and spend the day thinking about only herself. The "Her Expo" is the perfect place to do that and best of all it's all in one place. There will be much to see from lots of vendors so check out the details and don't miss this upcoming event.
May 31, 2012 I have a lot of family and friends who are planning to visit Abilene for the first time. Of course, they're coming to visit our new baby and the rest of the family, but I want to make sure they get a chance to enjoy some of the Abilene culture
April 28, 2012 The Kiwanis Club of Abilene is hosting their 63rd Annual Pancake Day and Auction this Saturday April 28th, 2012. The event will be at the Abilene Civic Center with two separate feeding times, for breakfast and lunch from 8am till 2pm and for supper from 4pm till 7pm with their silent auction closing at 7pm As well.
April 26, 2012 We got a visit from the Spirit Airlines marketing department in Abilene on Thursday April 26th, their reason for being here was to say thanks to all Texans and to give-away 20,000 frequent flyer bonus mile vouchers. Each voucher is good for one free round trip airline ticket (not including airline fees and taxes) to approximately 20 cities where Spirit Airlines flies.
April 25, 2012 I couldn't believe it either, my favorite sporting goods store in Abilene is closing it's doors for good on May 14th, 2012. Store manager Ralph Zamarippa says "we've known for some time that Abilene was one of the stores that's been on the list of stores closing in the Big 5 chain, but we couldn't say anything". The San Angelo store will be closing as well according to a visiting manager from the Lubbock store Roy Rocha.
April 23, 2012 Beautiful butterflies are everywhere in Abilene and for the most part this year, we are seeing thousands of Red Admiral, Tawny Emperor and Orange-Barred Sulphur butterflies. If you've seen butterflies and want to identify them, do as I did, I turned to the internet.
