As a music lover, I believe 2014 had some incredible music and some of it came from relative newcomers. For example in January 2014, I might have asked, "who are Sam Hunt, Frankie Ballard or Maddie & Tae?" They are a few in the top 10 for this year. Check it out and tell me who you think, do you agree?

    Miranda Lambert - Automatic

From her meek beginnings in the 2003 season of Nashville Star, where I might add she finished third. Miranda Lambert is now the 'Gold Standard' for any female country artist coming into the business. "Automatic" has been setting all kinds of records for the Girl that hails from the Lone Star State.

    Lee Brice - I Don’t Dance

Lee Brice has been spending the last two years wondering if he was ever going to see the #1 spot. Brice had several songs make it to #3 and then stall out there. I was certain the "I Drive Your Truck" would go to #1 but it only made the top ten. Earlier this year Lee Brice struck gold with "I Don't Dance", a song that women across America said they wanted it played at their weddings.

    Kenny Chesney - American Kids

Kenny Chesney is the benchmark of which today's country artists strive for. Chesney writes songs that for two decades now, have kept the Tennessee native at the top of all the music charts.  "American Kids" was a departure from his normal comfort zone and yet Kenny struck another gold mine. The song seems to speak to several generations, we saw it growing up.

    George Strait - I Got a Car

Even as he is retiring the King of Country George Strait found a way to immortalize his legacy with yet another hit song to add to his list. "I Got a Car" in my opinion, is not that special of a song. However it is when the king is singing it and it's a little out of his element. Nonetheless the song took more that 30 weeks to make it to the top spot, where it stayed there for multiple weeks. Besides he's the King of Country.
