2013 may well be the year of the snake according to the Chinese calendar but at the Abilene Animal shelter it's turned out to be the year of the donkey. Eight more donkeys just arrived at the Abilene Animal Shelter, bringing the donkey total for 2013 to approximately 50. If you have the place and the heart to care for a donkey check out what our shelter has to offer.

The Animal Shelter has taken in many more donkeys to date than in any previous year. In fact, one or two donkeys a year is the normal. To adopt a Donkey, call 698-0087 and talk with shelter director Aaron Vannoy.
